How often we look, and what that costs

The beat you choose is your bill. This is the one table worth reading before you switch a lorry on.

Every alert carries its own interval — how often we look at that lorry. Every look is one credit, so the number of looks a day is the spend a day, per lorry.

Two lorries on the same beat cost twice this. Ten lorries on a fifteen-minute beat spend about 960 credits a day without you touching the phone.

No plan's included credits cover its own term on the fastest beat

That is not a fault, it is the shape of the product. A plan sets how many lorries and for how long; the credits set how closely. Pick a slower beat and the same credits go much further. Topping up is expected.

Choosing a beat

  • A consignment you are actively waiting on: 15 or 30 minutes, and pause it the moment it arrives.
  • A lorry you want a daily picture of: 3, 6 or 12 hours.
  • A lorry you only want to hear about if it reaches one particular plaza: a slow beat is usually enough, because the plaza is not going anywhere.
  • A lorry parked in a yard: paused. Not a slow beat — paused.

The field takes minutes or hours, and the line under it says how many times a day that is before you save. You can change it any time from the lorry's own page without re-adding anything.

More rules do not mean more cost

A credit is charged per lorry per check, not per alert. Two alerts due on the same lorry at the same moment share one charge. But two alerts on different beats produce checks at both beats, and the two only coincide sometimes — which is how a lorry ends up looked at more often than you meant. That is why one lorry may carry only one alert of each kind.

Only when it moves is not cheaper

All the alert kinds look just as often. Choosing Only when it moves makes your phone quieter, not your bill smaller. Only a slower beat does that.

Questions about this

What is the fastest beat I can set?

The field accepts short intervals, but nothing is checked more often than the platform's own sweep, and a fast beat is the most expensive thing on the product. Start at an hour and speed it up only for a lorry you are actively waiting on.

If a lorry does not move, do I still pay?

Yes. The credit is spent when the check runs, whatever it finds. That is what the no-movement auto-pause exists to limit.

Can I set a different beat for a night run?

Not on a schedule. Change the interval on the lorry's page when you need it, or pause the lorry and take it live again when the run starts.
